The NFL star, and the rest of the New England Patriots, do something really great for 18-year old Eddie Martinez.
The work of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is almost guaranteed to raise smile, and maybe see a tear or two appear, on even the most cynical of faces. Allowing very sick, or terminally ill children enjoy a special experience is about as worthwhile as charity work gets, and you can check out how to help the Irish branch of the charity right here.
Over in the US, one recent recipient of their fantastic work was Eddie Martinez. The 18-year old was diagnosed, eventually, with pulmonary hypertension and right-sided heart failure. His illness has no cure and will require life-long treatment.
Eddie is a big New England Patriots fan so the NFL team, and star man Tom Brady, fixed it so his dream visit to Gillette Stadium was very special indeed. Not only did he get to meet Brady, and receive lots of Pats goodies, he even took a pass from Brady in a practice game and ran in for a TD.
He then got to watch a pre-season game from owner Robert Kraft’s box.
