The remake of the Mad Max movie has some pretty mad vehicles, caught on camera by a tourist in Africa

By Genna Patterson

Mad Max: Fury Road sees Tom Hardy step into Mel Gibson’s boots as Mad Max Rockatansky. Hopefully it won’t make Hardy as mad as Mel Gibson, but then we may not know the result for a few years.

The movie has just finished production but a Swiss tourist caught some images of the road vehicles used in the film before it ended, while on holiday in Namibia. George Miller, director and writer of the new remake seems set on keeping it close to the original. Miller also created the first Mad Max movies.

If you remember the first three movies, made from 1979 to 1985, you’ll find the new vehicles fit in with the makeshift warrior look seen in the originals. While the video doesn’t show any of the actors, it does show multiple vehicles in a desert, which is the most we’ve seen from the set of this production so far.

The movie will also star Charlize Theron (Prometheus) as Imperator Furiosa, Nathan Jones (Conan the Barbarian), Nicholas Hoult (About a Boy), Hugh Keays-Byrne (Mad Max), Zoe Kravitz (Californication), Riley Keough (Magic Mike), Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Transformers: Dark of the Moon) and Megan Gale (Project Runway Australia). It is set for release in 2014, but no official date has been set yet.

Miller has released little about the film, but back in August 2012, he told nme.com; "Mad Max is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived."

Check out the mad-looking vehicles in the video.
