Aussie Rules is a tough sport, as Zach Tuohy’s captain at Carlton, Marc Murphy, found out today.

For such a high intensity sport, Aussie Rules doesn’t get too many head injuries. But when they do, they can be very nasty. This accidental clash between Carlton’s Marc Murphy and Hawthorn’s Luke Hodge left Murphy unconscious and he had to leave the game. Hodge’s shoulder catches Murphy square on the jaw and it is suspected the jaw is broken, while his cheekbone may be injured too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGrbU7Ruwvk Murphy faces at least a month out to heal and to compound his misery, Hawthorn went on to win the game too.
