Our goalkeeping blooper of the week comes from Peru, where Juan ‘Chiquito’ Flores was doing a little too much time wasting
We’ve all been in that situation (in FIFA mostly) where we want to waste a bit of time and pass it backwards to see out the clock. That’s how we earned the nickname ‘clock killer’.
Juan Flores’ nickname isn’t clock killer though, it’s Chiquito, which means essentially ‘little fella’. We’re not sure either of those names are really apt though…
Anyway, this weekend he had what can only be described as a bit of a horror show for Unión Comercio against Cristal in Peru, as in an attempt to kill time, he was caught out by Irven Ávila, with the striker knicking the ball before he could pick it up and slotting it into an empty net. It all went a bit Pear-u shaped…
The replay doesn’t look good from any angle, and there are plenty of angles to be enjoyed for this blunder. We suspect he won’t try that again any time soon…
