Video: Will Ferrell introduced the LA Dodgers players at an MLB game yesterday

Typically, Ferrell added his own personal touch to the introductions, even if a couple of Dodgers players didn’t look particularly impressed.

Typically, Ferrell added his own personal touch to the introductions, even if a couple of Dodgers players didn’t look particularly impressed.

A self-confessed sports nut and former sports broadcaster, Ferrell has made a number of contributions to a wide range of sporting events over the years, from reading out the line-ups at NBA games to recording a personal message ahead of the AFL Grand Final as recently as last month.

As you would expect, simply reading out the line-ups wasn’t enough for Ferrell, who added his own comedic touch to proceedings which we thought was pretty funny, but a couple of players featured on camera looked fairly nonplussed.

TV station TBS cut Ferrell short before he finished, but the moment most appreciated by the home crowd at Dodger Stadium was captured on a Vine by the Dodgers, when Ferrell referred to Zack Greinke as ‘today’s winning pitcher’, a prediction that eventually played out as the Dodgers won 6-4.

Good stuff as usual by Ferrell, but not quite up there with arguably the finest sporting moment of his career from a few years back.
