Video: You don’t need to be a lip-reader to know what Alan Pardew was saying to Manuel Pellegrini here

The polite way of putting it is that Pardew was acknowledging that Pellegrini was of pensionable age and that he would see him next Tuesday.

The polite way of putting it is that Pardew was acknowledging that Pellegrini was of pensionable age and that he would see him next Tuesday.

Alan Pardew is no stranger to confrontation on the touchline and after incidents with the likes of Arsene Wenger and a linesman that he manhandled in the past, he was at it again with Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini today.

Tensions rose at St. James’ Park after what would have been an equalising goal by Cheick Tiote was harshly disallowed and sometime after that, Pardew and Pellegrini exchanged words on the sidelines, with the Sky cameras picking up Pardew appearing to use the f and the c words either side of the word ‘old’.

Whether the FA will decide to take any action against the Magpies boss remains to be seen but it will be interesting to hear Pardew’s defence; surely there’s no getting out of this one.
