Ugly scenes marred the game as Zenit fans poured on to the pitch with two minutes of normal time still to play as their team was losing 4-2. They were angry as the scoreline put Lokomotiv Moscow firmly in the driving seat for the Russian Premier League title. Lokomotiv trailed Zenit by one point before yesterday's game and with two games to go they were fancied to beat Rostov to overtake Zenit in the table.
However, Rostov beat Lokomotiv meaning Zenit remain on top with two games to go, but a lot will depend on how the Russian FA react to the violence yesterday and the threat of sanctions and punishments looms large for AVB's men.
