Vine: Did Sergio Busquets mean to stamp on Pepe’s head during last night’s Clasico?

The picture that has flown around social media looks very bad indeed. Have a gander at the Vine and see what you think.

Did you miss El Clasico last night? Oh boy, did you miss a cracker. Seven goals, three penalties, one red card and a Lionel Messi hat-trick covers the basics of Barcelona’s 4-3 win but it still doesn’t scratch the surface of a pulsating game at the Bernabeu. Because we love you, here are all the goals in one handy place.

Since the final whistle, the biggest talking point has been this image that appears to show Sergio Busquets deliberately stepping on the head of a prone Pepe.

The incident happened shortly after Messi had made it 2-2, when Pepe and Cesc Fabregas had a minor clash followed by some hilarious over acting by both parties.

It caused a scuffle between both sets of teams and in the middle of it all, Busquests ends up walking on Pepe. But the Vine of the incident isn’t as clear as the picture, and you could make the case that Busquets was pushed into the misstep. That said, you could also make the case that he could have done more to avoid Pepe’s head.

Honestly, we’ve watched this Vine a lot this morning and we still can’t decide whether there was intent or not.

Have a look for yourself and let us know below if the incident was an accident or a bit of very foul play.
