Sometimes, just one word can sum it all up.

The good run had to come to an end sometime and after a series of brilliant matches, Iran and Nigeria delivered the most boring game of the World Cup so far when both sides failed to score in a drab stalemate in Curitiba.

Anyone who was watching will know full well that there was precious little to talk about afterwards, as was evidenced when Gary Lineker tried to get some insight off Phil Neville, Rio Ferdinand and Neil Lennon on the BBC…

Thankfully, Phil Neville was on hand to provide a lighter moment when he responded to the wave of criticism on Twitter following his debut as a co-commentator for England’s clash with Italy on Saturday night…
