Everyone apart from afro lovers was happy that Tom Huddlestone scored for the first time in 54 games against Fulham this afternoon.

The midfielder hadn’t scored a goal since netting for Spurs against Arsenal in 2011 and it wasn’t from a lack of trying this season at least; according to Opta Joe, his effort against Fulham today was his 39th shot of the season so far.

He finally broke that duck with the fourth goal in Hull’s 6-0 spanking of Fulham at the KC Stadium and having promised that he would cut what had become what was quite a thick and heavy afro as soon as he did, he didn’t waste any time when letting one of the Hull backroom staff go at it and get rid of a fairly big chunk immediately afterwards.
