Vine: Troy Deeney’s goal for Watford against Charlton last night was a thing of beauty

Glorious first touch and a cracking finish off the underside of the crossbar, what’s not to like about this?

Score 24 goals in a season and you’re bound to attract the attention of clubs higher up the food chain and we’re sure potential suitors for Watford’s Troy Deeney will have been particularly impressed with his effort in the Hornets’ defeat to Charlton last night.

Latching onto a long ball pumped in his direction, Deeney not only controlled the ball with his first touch but also managed to deliberately knock it over the head of a Charlton defender before sending an unstoppable effort into the net via the underside off the crossbar.

A bit of Bergkamp and Tony Yeboah all rolled into one. Fantastic.
