The Everton midfielder posted a cryptic tweet last night. Anything major happen in Irish soccer yesterday?

While the vast majority of Irish players who played under Giovanni Trapattoni posted warm notes of tribute to the Italian on their Twitter pages yesterday, we were keenly watching for the reaction of those who perhaps had a beef with Trap.

With Stephen Ireland and Andy Reid not saying a word, we waited all day for Darron Gibson to have his say. The Everton midfielder has not been happy since he went to Euro 2012 and failed to play a single minute, and he hasn’t been in an Irish squad since, not replying to Trap’s text messages according to the Italian.

Late last night, Gibson finally broke his silence, with a message about what a good day he had.

We wonder what he meant? At least Ian Harte, who was unhappy with being ignored by Trap during his tenure, was a bit clearer.
