Good evening Ireland and that’s an order. Have no plans? Read on…

The World Cup is here. This is not a drill, we repeat, the World Cup is finally here. We look at some of the best pubs around the country for you to go and watch the drama from Brazil.

The Mercantile – Dublin

Situated in the heart of Dublin’s fair city on Dame Street, The Mercantile is a great place to go and watch the World Cup. Large screens everywhere and when the football is over you can enjoy the late bar and the great music it has to offer. It even serves bar food with its very own dedicated bakery. Fancy!

Dicey’s Beer Garden – Dublin

Possibly the greatest beer garden in the capital, Dicey’s outdoor space is not only huge and well looked after, but it has loads and loads of tellys. That’s handy in the winter when you pop out for a smoke in the miserable cold as you don’t miss the action, but when the weather is like this, it might just be the finest place in the country to watch a game. Just last night there were queues to get in to watch Brazil play Mexico so get to Harcourt Street early.

Da Vinci’s – Derry

A hugely popular bar in the city of Derry amongst locals and tourists, this is the place to watch the World Cup if you are in the Walled City. Very spacious, lots of televisions, excellent bar food and a late night DJ, all so you can do the macarena and pretend you’re Brazilian.

City Limits – Cork

Situated on Coburg Street and no more than two minutes walk from Patrick Street, the venue famous for its comedy club is a great place to watch the World Cup. Its front bar is spacious, comfortable, has a pool table and contains a giant screen perfect for viewing. It’s almost cinematic in size!

The King’s Head – Galway

The King’s Head Pub is located on High Street in the heart of Galway’s Latin Quarter. This landmark pub has earned a fantastic reputation for live music and comedy, good honest hearty food and great craic over three floors. It’s got piles of tellies for the football and no better place to watch the World Cup.
