Do you think you have the eye for the next big trend? Or maybe you can spot a millionaire in the making?

The AIB Hatch programme challenged 24 of Ireland’s most promising future entrepreneurs to attend a youth incubator programme over the three days of the Web Summit.

Not only did this talented bunch of students get a chance to learn coding, tech and social media skills, there was a chance to listen to mentors, ask their questions and immerse themselves in the start-up world.

With an eye on the emerging technology and apps on offer, the teams have the chance to explore, investigate and discover the social media trend that’s going to have us hooked six months down the line.

Split into teams, the future Zuckerbergs are on a mission to hunt down and interview 34 start-ups exhibiting at the event, shortlisting their favourite four for a chance to pitch at the Start-up Stage.

What finalists don’t realise is that behind each of these four invitations is €10,000 up for grabs to the winning pitch.

Is there an Irish Snapchat in the making?

Keep an eye on the AIB Hatch hashtag #backedbyAIB to get a sneak peek at what could be the next Snapchat, Facebook or Twitter to pop up and start-up on Irish shores.
