Five counties have been issued weather warnings ahead of heavy downpours.
The rain is set to return with a bang after several days of sunshine.
April started off with some glorious weather, warranting sea swims and outside pints, however it's looking like that will be coming to an end very soon.
The UK Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning to five counties in Northern Ireland for Wednesday, April 16.
The warning will be in place across Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down and Tyrone from 2am on Wednesday, until 9pm that night.
Heavy and persistent rain is what is expected in the areas, with forecasts suggesting it may not be the last weather warning of the week.
The UK Met Office warned that the conditions may cause 'some disruption to travel and potential for local flooding'.
"Rain will develop through the early hours of Wednesday, heavy at times, and lasting for much of the day.
"Most areas within the warning will see 20-30 mm of rain, but a few spots could see 50-60 mm particularly over the high ground of Antrim and Down. Rain will ease from the west Wednesday evening," they have reported.
Meanwhile, Met Éireann's forecast sees Wednesday begin with rather cloudy, showery conditions, however the afternoon is set to clear up with sunny spells will developing countrywide.
Thursday will see a mix of conditions with Friday set to bring widespread rain.
Additionally, Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather man said there is 'no sign of any real heat returning to Ireland in next 7-10 days.'
