In a shocking turn of events, Ireland is supposed to be hotter than Spain this December 25.
The hopes for a white Christmas are melting with each forecast as we approach the big day.
Met Éireann are no longer mentioned any ‘wintry showers’ on it’s extended forecast, with charts now suggesting most parts of Ireland will be the same temperature as the Costa Del Sol this Christmas!
In a shocking twist, Ireland is now set to be warmer than parts of Spain on December 25.
Huh?
Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather also explained that: “Weather models showing increased chances of high pressure building close to Ireland for Christmas which would mean nice settled weather but long way to go yet.
“Chances of white Christmas now fading quickly though.”
Bookies had been offering odds of 5/1 on snow falling in Dublin on Christmas Day as the stars (and weather events) seemed to be aligning for a perfect white Christmas, but now, it seems we must keep dreaming of such.
Now, suncream and beach trips will not be necessary because even though it’s unseasonably mild, temperatures won’t surpass 15 degrees.
Despite the forecast almost ruling out a white Christmas, snow may land in the north and north-west of the country this weekend.
Wet and windy weather conditions are also predicted in the coming days.
