We’ve seen the how hard Cristiano Ronaldo can hit a dead ball over the last few years and one young Bournemouth fan found out to his cost at the weekend.

Ronaldo and his fellow Real Madrid galacticos were in Bournemouth for a, eh, ‘glamorous’ friendly at the weekend, which, fairly predictably, ended in a 6-0 victory for the Spanish giants, with the Portuguese hitting a brace of goals at Dean Court.

Ronaldo’s radar wasn’t on for the entire game, however, as at one stage he rocketed a free-kick from more than 30 yards narrowly wide of the target and straight onto the arm of young Bournemouth supporter Charlie Silverwood behind the goal.

Such was the force of Ronaldo’s strike that Charlie broke his wrist in two places, but it wasn’t all bad for him as he was subsequently presented with a signed Real Madrid jersey and a football by his beloved club and he now has video evidence that his wrist was broken by arguably the best footballer in the world, a story he will no doubt tell ad nauseum in the pub when he’s older.

Hat-tip to Dave McKittrick for giving us the heads up on this one
