The 66-year-old will hang up his tie in 2015.
David Letterman has announced that he will leave CBS next year, and that his 22-year stint as host of ‘The Late Show’ will come to an end.
Letterman is one of the most recognisable faces on American television and his retirement follows that of Jay Leno, who left The Tonight Show in February.
Letterman reportedly made the retirement announcement during a taping of his show a few moments ago.
