Is it the end of an era?
Ireland’s crucial Euro 2016 qualifier with Scotland will be shown on RTÉ this Saturday and the broadcaster has confirmed that John Giles won’t be part of the coverage.
The panel will be made up of Liam Brady, Eamon Dunphy and Richie Sadlier with Darragh Moloney sitting in the presenter’s chair.
The Star broke the story going with the headline, “RTÉ Axe Giles” but a spokesman said it’s all to do with scheduling.

That seems like a subtle way of saying they’re moving in a different direction with the panel.
We’re big fans of Richie Sadlier though, but it looks like we won’t be seeing as much of Johnny Giles on our TVs from now on, sad times.
