Two pilots have been sacked after taking a cockpit selfie with an Argentinian model.

Model Victoria Xipolitakis tweeted an image of a selfie taken with the pilots of a flight that went from Buenos Aires to Rosario.

She was reportedly allowed to stay in the cockpit for the entire flight and tweeted that she had even been allowed to help fly the plane.

Austral airlines immediately sacked the two pilots in question and have threatened legal action against them, other flight crew and even the model.

Since September 11th, 2001 passengers have not been allowed to enter flight decks, and Argentinian safety regulations say that no one other than inspectors, traffic controllers or authorised staff should be allowed into the cockpit.

In a statement Argentinian Airlines, said: “Regarding what happened during flight 2708, the pilots were discharged and will be sacked like the rest of the staff who had a responsibility for the incident.

“Legal actions will be issued against the above mentioned and also against the passenger involved for putting the flight’s security at risk.”
