VIDEO: This intense singalong in Kerry shows the very best of Irish pub culture

Carl Kinsella

Mr. Brightside like you’ve never heard it sung before.

Good Friday is here and, as we’re all painfully aware, that means no drinking. With that in mind, people tend to get really into it on the Thursday night before the embargo begins.

This was especially true down in Falvey’s Bar in Killorglin, Co. Kerry – where the whole pub was singing in memory of a fellow by the name of Farmer.

We’ve got a video of the pub’s take on The Killers hit Mr. Brightside and it is intense to say the least. So intense, in fact, that the man on top of the bar whips his shirt off. This one is a must-watch.

Normal Holy Thursday night here.Brian remembering Farmer.

Peter Teahan who posted the video told us, “A local man Ger Foley (Farmer) was buried that day aged 45. He had cystic fibrosis. Brian O’Sullivan on the counter was paying tribute to him.”

Thanks to Eoin O’Connell for sending this one our way.
