It made a lot of people uncomfortable.
In a special report on Tuesday night’s Prime Time, Aoife Hegarty and David Doran revealed details of a foster care scandal in the west of Ireland, where children were left at risk for years despite sexual abuse allegations.
The revelations followed on from a previous case involving a young woman known by the pseudonym ‘Grace’, a young woman with profound intellectual disabilities who was left in a foster home in Waterford for almost 20 years despite a succession of sexual abuse allegations.
The report made for harrowing viewing at times and the refusal of the HSE and child and family agency Tusla to provide representation on the show led to criticism from viewers.

When it comes to such issues Ireland's government have always reacted rather than focus thoroughly on prevention #rtept #fostercare #neglect

#rtept #vinb in years to come, we will look back in shame at how the children of this nation are treated. There's no WE now, only them 1/2
