The end of the world as we know it?
Plot’s it all about? Ordinary folk having to save the world is a common theme in Hollywood – Armageddon, Independence Day etc. – and in Arrival, it’s the turn of expert linguist Amy Adams to deal with a potential alien threat to mankind.
Something tells us that Arrival is going to be a little more refined that the two examples cited earlier (not that we don’t love the sheer ridiculousness of both, of course) and there’s already Oscar talk circulating around a picture that, from the trailer at least, looks pretty impressive.
