Well… this is awkward.
Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway is never far from the headlines and today she has faced a fair amount of ridicule on social media for an old tweet she sent.
Five months ago, she tweeted about Hillary Clinton’s email saga after the FBI director James Comey’s announcement that the FBI would be investigating a new bunch of emails found on a laptop belonging to the husband of a top Clinton aide.
She tweeted: “Most honest people I know are not under FBI investigation, let alone two,” while sharing a tweet from Fox News that said: “If you’re under your 2nd FBI investigation in the same year then you do have a…corruption & an ethics problem.”
Naturally, the irony of the tweet was not lost on many people as the FBI have confirmed an ongoing investigation involving suspected collusion between Russia and Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
