The 10 destinations that made Lonely Planet’s Best in Europe list for 2017

Conor Heneghan

Lonely Planet

No sign of anywhere in Ireland, unfortunately.

Lonely Planet hasn’t been afraid to shower love and praise on Ireland as a tourist destination in the past, but there is no room for any Irish locations in their annual ‘Best of Europe’ list for 2017.

That’s not to take away from the ten hotspots that did make the list, however, which include a mixture of well-known spots, others that are off the beaten track and an entire country in Eastern Europe.

It being that time of year where many of you are no doubt thinking of heading off on holidays, some of the destinations below could be well worth checking out for something a little different.

For more reasons why to visit them, check out the glowing recommendations on Lonely Planet here.
