TV3 weatherman reports on strong winds, then gets blown off his feet live on air

Rory Cashin

It isn’t quite on the levels of “Don’t make unnecessary journeys!”, but it is pretty damned close.

TV3 weatherman Deric Ó h’Artagáin was out bright and early on the streets this morning, reporting on the demise of our summer.

While discussing the “strong winds and rain” due over the course of the day, his giant yellow umbrella acted as something of a sail, and yanked the presenter off camera.

Cutting back to the giggling hosts of Ireland AM, we see that Deric has mostly composed himself, but his poor umbrella looks like it didn’t survive the incident.

Deric himself seen the funny side of the situation, posting on Twitter soon afterwards…

Between Teresa Mannion and that dude who slipped dramatically on the ice a few winters back, we’ve almost got an entire “Funny Irish Weather Compilation” package at this point.
