The reaction was only visible on Android phones.
A number of social media users witnessed a brand new way to react to their friends’ posts on Tuesday evening – one that cropped up in the form of an airplane emoji.
The new reactionary emblem was only visible to those scrolling through Facebook on Android phones – leading to a number of people posting about their strange experience online.

Did anyone else run into the "Airplane Reaction Emoji" on Facebook? I accidentally sat on my phone and when I checked I had "airplaned" a status update. And no one believed me

The reaction was noted in a number of larger Facebook groups when users held down the like button in the comment section of a post, then finding an extra angry emoji.
Selecting that emoji called up the plane reaction, according to a user on Reddit.
Facebook was contacted for comment by Fast Company, who confirmed that the new feature wasn’t going to be sticking around.
“This was created as part of an employee hackathon and wasn’t cleared for takeoff,” a Facebook spokesperson said when asked comment.
“Our apologies.”
It’s currently unclear how long the glitch it set to remain, however, it definitely made an impact during its short debut.
