RTÉ will be showing every Harry Potter film over the Christmas season

Harry Potter Christmas

Get the munchies in.

While films like It’s A Wonderful Life, Elf, and Die Hard are definitively Christmas films, there’s an entire subcategory of other titles that aren’t quite Christmas films but will 100% be shown over the holiday season.

You know what we mean.

It’s not Christmas without seeing Indiana Jones battle some Nazis, Steve McQueen plan The Great Escape, or Robin Williams battle Captain Hook in Good Will Hunting Hook.

On this note, you could make the tenuous argument that Harry Potter is sort of a Christmas film.

Like Jesus Christ, Harry sacrificed himself for the world and his birth was also shrouded in some fame. Aside from these things, there’s plenty of snow when the gang all head to Hogsmeade and Harry did get the greatest Christmas present of all time, an invisibility cloak.

Ok, the eight Harry Potter films are definitely not going to challenge John McClane for his Christmas crown, but they might just be taking the viewing figures over the festive season because every single adventure in the wizarding world will be shown on RTÉ.

In fact, the broadcaster are even showing some of them as a back-to-back double bill.

Harry Potter, tea, and the remainder of your selection box.

Expecto fun!

Here’s the full timetable so you can start planing.
