Catch yourself on.
As stated previously, Derry Girls is now available for Netflix viewers around the globe to get stuck into over Christmas and while it’s not available on the Irish version of the online streaming giant, you can watch it on All4.
Given the fact that the show is quintessentially Irish, plenty of fans are extremely interested in seeing how some of the gags and references have played out abroad but it’s credit to Lisa McGee’s writing that so much of the story and the jokes in the show are universal.
Yes, Derry Girls is set on Foyleside but good writing is just that. It transcends nationality, gender, age, and most other things.
Essentially, people in Pakistan are getting just as much a kick out of seeing Erin, Clare, Michelle, Orla, and James on screen as people in Downpatrick.
On that note, the general consensus is that it’s absolutely great. In fact, The Hollywood Reporter called it the comedy of the year while adding that “their episodic humiliations are our comedy gold.”
Hey, there’s no accounting for taste around the globe.
Derry Girls has finally made it to Netflix Pakistan and I love it already!

Erin and I started re-watching Derry Girls last night and honestly, I don't think there's ever been a show that's made me come that close to throwing up from laughter. I want to watch it with my future kids.

Some people are now questioning if Dolly Parton is the patron saint of Ireland?

There’s plenty of love for Sister Michael and Siobhan McSweeney’s brilliant performance.

Just found Derry Girls on Netflix NZ. So far, bombs are interfering with sunbed sessions, the wooden spoon has been brandished and a boy has been sent to a girls school…because of an English accent. pic.twitter.com/oJsrfZ5s7X

Netflix recommendation: “Derry Girls” is very good and also led to a family wide conversation about The Troubles.

Started #DerryGirls on Netflix. Good show about teenagers growing up during The Troubles in Northern Ireland. It's a comedy but weaves in some politics and history in a very subtle but effective way.

Episode 4 of Derry Girls has the most killer soundtrack – I totally know all those Whitfield’s Saturday Night dance moves; Girls & Boys by Blur; & closing with a Heart of a Women.
So 1994 Ireland!!
