Ryan Reynolds is Pikachu. What more do you need to know?
Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Detective Pikachu.
Plot’s it all about?
Back in December, we got a look at the very first trailer for Detective Pikachu – the new Pokemon starring movie starring none other than Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu.
And although that trailer gave very little away, we know quite a bit more after seeing these most recent clips from the movie.
Pikachu can speak English, but only one character can understand him, Tim, who is played by Justice Smith.
Pikachu will use his ability to communicate with both Tim and the Pokemon to try and solve the mystery behind Tim’s father’s disappearance.
And although it doesn’t exactly look like a barrel of laughs, we do see a number of interactions between the little yellow legend and other classic Pokemon, which is doing wonders for our nostalgia.
Charizard, Snorlax and even Mewtwo make an appearance, and they look pretty damn badass if you ask us.
Have a look here:
Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Justice Smith, Ken Watanabe, Rita Ora, Bill Nighy, Suki Waterhouse.
Directed by: Rob Letterman, previously of the underrated Monsters vs. Aliens.
Irish release date: 10 May 2019
Enjoy…
