Comedies, horror, and one of the greatest crime movies of all time.
Wednesday evening.
Last weekend is a distant memory.
Next weekend is still over the horizon.
Might as well kill a few hours with one or more of these:
WEDNESDAY 27 NOVEMBER
Volcano – Film4 – 6.55pm
The molten lava has more chemistry with the tarmac roads it melts in Los Angeles than Tommy Lee Jones has with Anne Heche in this bonkers disaster movie about a volcano that suddenly erupts in the middle of Beverly Hills, but that doesn’t stop the movie from being a huge amount of fun.
Goodfellas – ITV4 – 10pm
With The Irishman hitting Netflix today, maybe you’ll want to go back to Scorsese’s earlier crime epic with De Niro and Pesci.
Wayne’s World – Comedy Central – 11pm
Garth: “What do you do if every time you see this one incredible woman, you think you’re gonna hurl?”
Wayne: “I say hurl. If you blow chunks and she comes back, she’s yours. But if you spew and she bolts, it was never meant to be.”
Mother! – Film4 – 11.25pm
It was one of our favourite movies of 2017, but we still can’t fully recommend this psychological warfare disguised as a horror movie, with Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem the home-owners who find themselves under siege.
Anaconda – Horror Channel – 12.50am
Jennifer Lopez fights a giant snake and Jon Voight’s unidentifiable accent in this campy action horror “classic”.
LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
