This comes after the success of last year’s ceremony.
It has been announced that this year’s Academy Awards will go without a host once again, following the improved ratings of last year’s ceremony.
As always, actors and actresses will be on stage to present and announce each award, but like last year, there will be no official host.
“Let me confirm it now, together with the Academy, that there will be no traditional host this year”, announced ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke on Wednesday.
ABC will again broadcast the ceremony as part of its long-term agreement with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
2019 was supposed to see actor and comedian Kevin Hart host the Award’s ceremony, but due to a number of his homophobic tweets being unearthed, the decision was made to hold the ceremony without a host.
2019’s ceremony boasted nearly 30 million viewers, up an extremely impressive 11.5 percent from the year before.
The Oscars will take place on 9 February at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
Seth MacFarlane, Ellen DeGeneres, Neil Patrick Harris and Chris Rock are among those who have hosted the Oscars in the past.
