Season 2 of The Night Of is a strong possibility with ‘a couple of ideas’ being discussed

The Night Of Season 2

The outstanding drama could be returning.

Bad news, the future of Mindhunter is in limbo. Good news, the future of The Night Of is in good shape.

While both dramas don’t exactly share an awful lot in common, there’s a level of authenticity, craft, and skill in both that sets them apart from most other shows.

Essentially, both dramas are excellent in terms of documenting the cold, hard, methodical nature of crime – however, they both focus on different aspects of criminality.

After picking up 13 Primetime Emmy nominations including Best Limited Series, with both John Turturro and Riz Ahmed nominated for Lead Actor in a Limited Series (Ahmed won) – The Night Of is one of the best dramas that HBO have recently commissioned.

The show was also nominated for three Golden Globes and a BAFTA.

In terms of its plot, The Night Of revolves around a Pakistani-American college student named Nasir (Riz Ahmed)  who is accused of murdering his one-night stand.

Turturro played Nas’ lawyer, John Stone, and in a recent interview with Deadline, Turturro said that he could be returning to play the character in a new season.

“We have a couple of ideas but we have to sit down and discuss them, so we’re at that stage so that’s good,” Turturro said.

In terms of his most immediate project, Turturro directs and stars in the Jesus Quintana-inspired spinoff to The Big Lewbowski, The Jesus Rolls which is set for release in February.

As we all know, nobody fucks with the Jesus.

Here’s hoping that nobody fucks with Season 2 of The Night Of too.
