It’s Monday.

We’re on the first day of seven… well, that depends on whether you consider Sunday to be the first day of the week, but for the purposes of this article, we’ll assume it’s Monday.

Monday = one day.

So what are we looking like in terms of movies this Monday?

Well, here’s the pick of the bunch.

Ocean’s Twelve – Sky One – 9pm

Am I correct in saying that, at one point, Julia Roberts pretends to be Julia Roberts in this movie?

Assassins – ITV4 – 9pm

Sylvester Stallone and Antonio Banderas are rival hitmen. Could have been a great movie but it’s all a bit meh.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit – TG4 – 9.30pm

Chris Pine follows in the steps of Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck to take up the mantle of Jack Ryan.

A decent outing, but John Krasinski’s version in the Jack Ryan TV series on Amazon Prime is still the best.

Jason Bourne – Film4 – 9pm

While we won’t have a bad word said about Dalkey native Matt Damon, this isn’t a movie that he or anyone else will remember in 20 years time.

Comfortably the worst of his Bourne outings.

Jackass 3.5 – Comedy Central Extra – 10pm

All the bits that didn’t make it into the third movie.

Police Academy – ITV4 – 11.25pm

A group of misfits train to be cops. While the movie wouldn’t be considered one of the great comedies, it was and remains immensely popular.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
