The latest of a number of shebeens to be shut down by Gardaí in recent months.
Gardaí in Edenderry, Co Offaly, raided a suspected shebeen as part of Operation Navigation on Thursday, seizing a significant amount of alcohol in the process.
Gardaí found a number of people drinking alcohol on the premises, all of whom will be issued with a fixed fine in an alleged breach of Regulation 4 of the Health Act, 1947 Regulations – Restriction on the Movement of Persons.
A significant amount of alcohol was also located and seized at the premises, including six beer kegs.
Offaly Gardaí found a number of persons on a premises today consuming alcohol.
This was in breach of liquor licencing legislation in support of current public health measures.

A Garda spokesperson said: “The Covid-19 pandemic remains a public health crisis and An Garda Síochána continues to appeal to all citizens to comply with Public Health Guidelines and Regulations in order to save lives.
“The Covid-19 pandemic continues to be a serious risk to public health and An Garda Síochána continue to appeal to all members of the public to comply with Public Health Guidelines in order to save lives.”
Enquiries are ongoing and a file has been prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
