Gardaí are investigating after a man in his 40s was stabbed in Meath on St Stephen’s Day.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said the serious assault occurred in the Balrath Woods area of Burtonstown and is believed to have happened at around 8pm on Sunday (26 December).
The man in his 40s was in his car when two males approached the vehicle and attacked him.
“The man received a number of stab wounds,” the spokesperson said.
“He later received treatment at Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.”
Gardaí are asking for any person who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information to come forward.
They are appealing to anyone who was near the entrance to Balrath Woods between 7.30pm and 9pm on Sunday and who may noticed any persons or vehicles to contact investigating Gardaí.
Any road users who may have been passing the area at this time and who have dashcam footage are also asked to make this available to Gardaí.
