At long last, the weekend is among us and with that, you may be looking for movies to watch.
Well, Disney+ has just quietly added 12 big films to its library.
Yet, if none of these are for you, here’s your movie on telly options tonight.
Black ’47 – Virgin Media One – 9pm
Our pick for tonight, this western follows Irish soldier Feeney (James Frecheville) who in 1847 returns home from fighting for the British Army in Afghanistan to find his country ravaged by the Famine with many of his own family among the dead.
Outraged by the injustices he sees perpetrated by rent collectors, law enforcement and English landowners, Feeney seeks vengeance.
Boasting hard-hitting action, while not shying away from the horrors of the Famine, Black ’47 manages to be both a long-overdue and worthy cinematic telling of an awful part of Irish history and also a gripping western.
The ensemble cast is incredible too – featuring Barry Keoghan, Freddie Fox, Hugo Weaving, Jim Broadbent, Moe Dunford, Sarah Greene and Stephen Rea.
Deadpool 2/Logan – Film4 – 9pm/11.20pm
Two more mature X-Men spin-offs are airing on Film4 tonight.
The first of the two is decent, while the second is one of the best superhero flicks ever.

Highlander – Horror Channel – 9pm

Das Boot – True Movies – 9pm
This German WWII drama set on a submarine is widely considered as being among the best war films of all time.
Pacific Rim: Uprising – E4 – 9pm
A fun performance by Star Wars’ John Boyega is the best thing about this weak sequel to a very cool sci-fi action blockbuster.

It’s Friday night which means TG4 is playing a western.
This one stars Marlon Brando.
Sex and the City 2 – RTÉ2 – 9.50pm

Kill Bill: Vol 2 – Turner Classic Movies – 11.10pm
The second part of writer-director Quentin Tarantino’s incredibly watchable martial arts epic.
Moonstruck – RTÉ One – 11.30pm
A bookkeeper in New York (Cher) finds herself in a difficult situation when she falls for the brother (Nicolas Cage) of the man she has agreed to marry.
One of the greatest romantic comedies ever made, Moonstruck just happens to be written by the man behind Wild Mountain Thyme.
Game Night – BBC One – 11.45pm
A game night turns into a real-life mystery for an ordinary married couple (Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams) and their friends.
This is easily one of the funniest comedies of the past few years and features a hysterical supporting turn from recent Oscar nominee Jesse Plemons.
