Tom Holland Spider-Man 4 update

Peter Parker is going to have to wait a bit longer.

Spider-Man star Tom Holland has given an update to fans about the current state of the fourth entry to the Sony franchise.

At a press conference for his upcoming Apple TV+ show, The Crowded Room, Holland told Variety about the effect of the writers strike on the movie’s production, which has led to delays.

“I can’t talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings,” said the 27-year-old.

“We’ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers. There’s been multiple conversations had, but at this point it’s very, very early stages.”

Holland starred as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming and its sequels Far From Home and No Way Home. He’s also featured as the web-slinging hero in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Holland’s last outing as Spider-Man in No Way Home ended quite ambiguously and could have been taken as the final chapter for the character. However, plans are clearly in place for a new set of adventures for this version of Peter Parker.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Holland reassured fans that he wants to continue as the much-loved character for “as long as we can do justice to Peter Parker.”

Earlier this week at the premiere for the animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the producer of the Tom Holland-starring movies, Amy Pascal, also had her say on the next project.

“Are we going to make another movie? Of course we are,” Pascal said. “We’re in the process, but the writers strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”

Holland next stars in psychological thriller The Crowded Room as Danny Sullivan, who is arrested for his involvement in a New York City shooting in 1979. Through a series of interviews with an interrogator named Rya (Amanda Seyfried), Sullivan slowly reveals his darkest secrets. It releases on Apple TV+ on June 9.
