The show will air on RTÉ One at 9.35pm on Friday.
The contenders vying for a spot as Ireland’s Eurovision 2024 entry takes to the stage on the Late Late Show on Friday evening (January 26).
There’s no Johnny Logan reunion tour, unfortunately, but it looks like one of the strongest years for Ireland in a long time, and we’re going to break down the acts ahead of the competition.
It should be noted that controversy surrounds this year’s Eurovision contest, with many calling for a boycott over Israel‘s involvement in the competition despite their ongoing bombardment of Gaza.
RTÉ have confirmed it has received over 600 requests to pull out of the competition.
Whi are all the acts taking part in Eurosong 2024?
Erica Cody – Love Me Like I Do
The most well-known out of all the contestants, Erica Cody has been making a name for herself for years now as a multi-talented star and it seems fitting that she is giving Eurovision a pop this year.
The Dancing with the Stars runner-up has dropped ‘Love Me Like I Do’, a sleek, 80s-style anthem that will no doubt be a favourite among audiences.

Ailsha – Go Tobann
The internet’s (and, admittedly, this writer’s) favourite entry is the absolute banger Go Tobann from the brilliant Ailsha. Bringing something completely different into the mix, Ailsha’s as Gaeilge trad-metal tune perfectly blends together a song that is humourous, camp and, most importantly, very catchy.
Any song that has the lyrics “An bhfuil cead agam dul go dtí an leithreas?” has our vote.

JyellowL feat. Toshín – Judas
Another act bringing something fresh to Ireland’s Eurovision hopes is JyellowL, who has been on the Irish hip-hop scene for a while now.
The sincere and thoughtful song, backed up by Toshín’s powerful vocals on the chorus definitely has the strength to go all the way.

Isabella Kearney – Let Me Be the Fire
Bringing the club banger this year is Australian born Isabella Kearney, and it’s instantly recognisable as a very Eurovision song.
Kearney, who has worked with songwriters for artists including Lizzo, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and Demi Lovato, says that her song is about “helping someone – a friend, lover or family member- go through a difficult time. It’s about saying, ‘Hey, I have you. Lean on me’”.

Bambie Thug – Doomsday Blue
In the same vein as Ailsha, Bambie Thug is bringing something very different to the table. A unique entry in the best way, the song mixes metal, goth, pop and acoustic elements, with a very catchy chorus.
Cork-born Bambie Thug describes themself as “the perfect wildcard” and “a proud Irish and non-binary artist”. Their song is definitely one to watch out for on Friday and is another example of a changing direction towards more experimental entries to Ireland’s Eurovision hopes.

Next In Line – Love Like Us
Finally, we come to the last Eurovision 2024 hopefuls and they’re straight out of the Louis Walsh playbook.
The veteran manager’s new boyband Next In Line might be considered the most “safe” option out there, but we’re sure they’ll give the rest of the entries some competition on the night.
