American actor Hudson Joseph Meek, best known for his role in the 2017 blockbuster Baby Driver, has died aged 16.
The teenager was reportedly ejected from a moving vehicle in a tragic accident last week in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, he sustained blunt force trauma after falling from the car late at night.
Local news outlet WVTM13 added that Meek was taken to UAB Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries two days later.
They also reported that the Vestavia Hills Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
Meek's earliest work dates back to 2014, when he starred in an uncredited role as Wiseman in The Santa Con.
He had 17 projects to his name throughout his short career, according to IMDb, including his role as Young Baby in Baby Driver, Boy in MacGyver, Tiberius in Legacies, and most recently, Sirius in The School Duel.
A post on the actor's Instagram account states: “Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”
His obituary described him as a ‘reflective and thoughtful’ person who was ‘tenacious when he set his mind to something’.
It continued: "Hudson was also an accomplished actor. He worked on several major motion pictures and television shows, some of which will be released in 2025.
"He absolutely loved spending time on set and having the chance to learn the names and stories of every member of the cast and crew."
Tributes have poured in for the young star in recent days.
"What a guy of character. I truly have the upmost respect for him and his family. Praying for you Meek family." wrote @allisonmanners on Instagram.
"One of the funniest, friendliest, and life giving people I got to meet💚 so many prayers for the Meeks," @lilliangracemcgehee added.
Descendants star Brenna D’Amica wrote: "I am so so sorry. Keeping you are all in my prayers."
