There are all kinds of reasons for not getting enough sleep at night.

Perhaps you're staying up too late staring at your phone - or maybe you're sleeping with too many damn clothes on. But did you know that your diet can have a huge effect on how you sleep? And we're not just talking about all that caffeine you're having. According to a recent study from Purdue University in the US, having a high-protein diet can help you get a better night's rest. In a press release accompanying the study, lead author Wayne Campbell (no, not the one from Wayne's World) said: 'Most research looks at the effects of sleep on diet and weight control, and our research flipped that question to ask what are the effects of weight loss and diet—specifically the amount of protein—on sleep. "We found that while consuming a lower calorie diet with a higher amount of protein, sleep quality improves for middle-age adults. This sleep quality is better compared to those who lost the same amount of weight while consuming a normal amount of protein." Excellent.
