We finally know when Death Stranding, one of the most anticipated games of the decade, will be out

It turns out, it'll be MUCH sooner than any of us had expected.

In case you didn't know, Hideo Kojima is a bit of a genius. He is the guy who created the Metal Gear Solid series, which is one of the most cutting edge franchises around, always pushing the envelope on what video games are capable of. He was also heavily involved in the Silent Hills reboot, before the production company shut it down, even though Kojima was working on the game with none other than Oscar-winner Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape Of Water, Pan's Labyrinth). Not to worry though, as Kojima has released a new trailer for his new game Death Stranding and given fans a fantastic surprise, as we'd all been expecting it be a PS5 launch title, but instead it will actually be arriving on the current console generation before the end of the year. However, looking at the trailer - which, admittedly, does look like Metal Gear Solid meets Silent Hill - you'd be hard pressed to figure out what exactly is going on. It seems to star almost as many directors as actors, as the trailer features Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Mads Mikklesen (Casino Royale), and Lea Seydoux (Spectre), joined by Kojima himself, as well as Del Toro, and another much-acclaimed director, Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Bronson). From the trailer, which includes in-the-womb babies, a lot of talk of "making America whole again", invisible ghosts that pull you into mud, and Mads looking, well, mad, as he sets fire to his fellow army men, we're very confused. But it's the kind of confusion that makes us want to know just what the hell is going on. So, yeah, we'll be getting this the second it becomes available. Death Stranding is due for release on the PS4 from Friday 8 November. Clip via PlayStation
