WATCH: Diablo IV is officially on the way, and the first footage is... violent
It has been a full seven years since the last entry in the series.
Today is a big day for gamers, isn't it?
Not only is Death Stranding finally released, but Blizzard have confirmed the imminent arrival of Diablo IV.
We say imminent, but that is a guess, as the actual release date has yet to be confirmed, with the only info to go on so far is that it will be released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, which probably means it'll be before the arrival of the PS5 and Project Scarlett.
Diablo III arrived way back in 2012, and things have come a long way since then, as you can see from the announcement cinematic that Blizzard released today:
At BlizzCon 2019, the games development company said the following about the new sequel: "[It takes place] many years after the events of Diablo III, after millions have been slaughtered by the actions of the High Heavens and Burning Hells alike. In the vacuum of power, a legendary name resurfaces."
On top of the cinematic, they also released the first gameplay trailer for three of the classes announced for the game: the barbarian, the sorceress, and the druid.
