WATCH: The new Gotham Knights trailer reveals full gallery of villains

DC has also revealed the new Batman game will be arriving earlier than previously announced.

One of the most anticipated games of the year, there are some things that we've already learned about Gotham Knights. It comes from the makers of Batman: Arkham Origins, and is set after the death of Batman, with Gotham's super-villains rushing to take over the city in his absence. So we control Batgirl, Red Hood, Robin and Nightwing, either in solo play or alongside another player online, in an attempt to fight back against the sharp rise in crime. We know that a lot of the action will revolve around Mr. Freeze, but the new Official Villains Trailer reveals that the dynamic duo fearsome foursome will also be tackling Harley Quinn, The Penguin, Clayface and the mysterious Court of Owls. The events of this game won't be directly related to how Batman: Arkham City ended, instead looking to set up its own primary story within the world of Arkham. DC has also announced that the Joker won't feature in the game at all, either. No Batman and no Joker in a Gotham game? Big risk, we'll see how it pays off! Gotham Knights will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC from Friday, 21 October – four days earlier than the previously announced release date. Clip via DC
