First released in 1998 on the PS1, Xbox, and Nintendo GameCube, Resident Evil 2 was an iconic survival horror game, one that expanded hugely on the zombie infested mansion of the original by giving us a glimpse of a devastated city... before tunneling back indoors, into a zombie infested police station.
Since then, the series has had some fantastic highlights (Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard) and some terrible lowlights (pretty much all of the rest of them), but RE2 stands out as a fantastic opportunity to revisit some great scares.
We'd already mentioned the game in our Most Anticipated 2019 games piece, and now to get us even more excited, Capcom are giving players on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam a chance to check out a 30-minute demo.
However you decide to play that opening half hour is entirely up to you, but the twist is you'll only get to do it once. Yep, it is a one-and-done kinda deal. You can die as often as you like within those 30 minutes, but once the timer is up, you won't be able to play the demo again.
Regardless of how well or how badly you do though, you will be gifted with a brand new demo-exclusive cinematic trailer, which you can then watch as many times as you like.
The opening 30-minute demo will be available from Friday 11 January, while the full game will be released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC from Friday 25 January.
