Over the weekend, we finally got a better look at Starfield, and now we feel that we can 100% confirm that this game is going to absolutely consume our day to day lives.
A comprehensive deep dive on the gameplay can be found right here, but basically it looks like Starfield will allow players to live out their deepest, space-iest fantasies. Want to be part of a Star Trek’y, discover strange new worlds collection of explorers? You got it. Or would rather be a rogue space pirate, battling and pillaging anyone silly enough to cross your path? You got that too.

Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning company behind Skyrim and Fallout 4, have released an official synopsis for the game:
“Starfield is the first new universe in over 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. In this next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, create your character and explore with unparalleled freedom as you embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.
“In the year 2330, humanity has ventured beyond our solar system, settling new planets, and living as a spacefaring people. You will join Constellation – the last group of space explorers seeking rare artefacts throughout the galaxy – and navigate the vast expanse of space in Bethesda Game Studios’ biggest and most ambitious game.
“Along the way you will join in the adventures of various factions; pilot and customise your own ship; explore planets and discover their local flora, fauna, and resources; build outposts; and master a refined combat system to deal with threats of all kinds.”
Starfield is due to arrive on Xbox Series X|S and PC on Wednesday 6 September, and will be available on day one for anyone who subscribes to Game Pass. You can pre-order the game and all of its jaw-dropping accessories right here.
