Brosnan the style icon

The former 007 has an image that is easily achieved. Brosnan's approach to style is foolproof and he is this week's JOE Style Icon.

JOE

By Laura Anne Mooney

Pierce Brosnan has topped People’s magazine ’50 most beautiful people’ on more than one occasion, going on to be voted ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ in 2001. His roles as the international man of mystery, 007, or as Robert Pattinson’s distant grieving father in ‘Remember Me’ has seen Brosnan styled impecably. It is also something that he carries with an ease into his day to day life, accessorised with the charm and charisma of a true gentleman.

Not one to be typecast, the fifty-six year old Co Meath native will have starred, impresssively, in at least five new films by the close of the year. His most recent, ‘The Ghost Writer’, directed by the controversial Roman Polanski, sees him play an ex British prime minister who finds himself accountable for war crimes.

He epitomises relaxed yet tailored style.  He’s often seen in a suit, but he’s just as good at pulling of a great off-duty look. It’s easy to dress like Pierce, even for those who find the concept of casual Friday a bit daunting.

From the bottom…

Shoes, Brown Thomas, €320

Jeans, Brown Thomas, €184.24

These Acne jeans are perfect for trying out the faded distressed denim look that is so on-trend at the moment.

Belt, Reiss, €75

The Shirt, Reiss, €75

This is a great shirt and looks great with the jacket.

The Jacket, Reiss, €220

This jacket is casual yet smart. A must have for a Sping/Summer’10 wardrobe. I have chosen navy as it is an easier colour to wear and is a little less serious than black.

Watch, Brown Thomas, €1,830

I know this is a little pricey but it is a beautiful watch.

Glasses, Brown Thomas, €245
