A pawsome idea!

If you’ve ever felt guilty for spending hours binge-watching TV shows and neglecting your fur baby – fear no more, as they can now join in on the activity with you.

A one-of-a-kind new TV channel made especially for dogs and their owners is launching this month.

DOG TV promises to “enrich the lives of stay at home dogs” and has undergone scientific testing to make sure it lives up to that promise for the past three years.

The shows set to be broadcast on the new channel have been developed specifically for canine senses.

Colours have been tweaked to make it easier for dogs to see them and camera angles will align with their natural vision. As well as this, the audio has been perfectly set to match their hearing frequencies.

Shows will include The Dog Chef, which features chef Kevyn Matthews serving up delicious and healthy doggy recipes, At Home with Laura Native which sees a celebrity dog trainer teach owners how to have a better home life with their dog, and Things We Woof About, which will explore a wide variety of new dog trends, products and services.

The channel will be particularly beneficial for dogs who do not like to be left home alone.

One in six dogs suffer from separation anxiety but, according to DOG TV, its shows can help alleviate the common symptoms that arise from this condition – such as loneliness and stress.

Professor Nicholas Dodman, chief scientist for DOG TV, said:

“DOG TV is an excellent resource for dog owners to help alleviate some of the behavioural problems that can arise when dogs are left alone.

“With numbers of dog owners rising over the pandemic, and owners now returning to work, DogTV helps canines to feel relaxed and comforted until their owners return home.”

DOGTV will be available from November on Roku, Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, Google Play Store, and Apple’s App Store.

It is also available for a monthly subscription online at DOGTV.com.
