Want to look like you’re a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to stylish men’s attire for the swimming pool? Littlewoods Ireland is here to help…

With the summer in full swing (honestly), going to the swimming pool or indeed sunbathing has become an event that can make or break us as men. With swarms of Irish men heading to the continent to experience what actual heat feels like, we’ve got the low-down on how you can look your best at the pool. There is nothing more soul destroying for an Irish man to see fellow country men swanning around the beautiful resorts of continental Europe wearing a greying, ancient,  torn pair of GAA shorts which leave nothing to the imagination. This look is usually complimented with a pair of sandals worn with socks. It’s a heinous sartorial crime and needs to be stopped immediately.

Swimming shorts come in a lot of different styles and lengths so we are going to have a look at some options to keep you looking cool in the heat. For the fashion conscious man who likes designer labels, this nice pair of Calvin Klein shorts might just be the thing you are looking for. Or perhaps you are more of a sporty individual and like the big sporting brands in which case these checked swimming shorts from adidas could be just the pair for you.

Most Irish men baulk at the thought of a pair of Speedos. Traditionally, Speedos conjure up images of tiny briefs being worn by a man who really should know better and can cause kids to scream at swimming pools the world over. It doesn’t have to be that way though as this nice pair of Speedo shorts shows. Maybe you’re one of the guys who likes to wear Hawaiian shirts on holidays and extend that to the shorts? Well, right here, this pair of Goodsouls shorts has a very striking floral pattern which is sure to grab attention.

If you’re a proud Celt, then this tartan-patterned pair of shorts might be just what you are looking for from Le Breve. One of the most popular high street brands for men today is Superdry and you can get wet in a really cool pair of Superdry swimming shorts. All sorts of brain messing there. Super dry, but he’s wet. How does he do it?!

Never fear though, if we haven’t shown you something you are looking for, you can visit the Littlewoods Ireland website to see a whole range of swimwear options. Be that cool lad at the pool, not the one in the GAA shorts, sunburnt to bits, washing his socks in the water.
