Accomodation site Hotels.com is feeling pretty generous, offering a guaranteed 20% discount to Irish customers that wish to re-book after using the now-defunct 1800hotels.ie website.

This week’s closure of the 1800hotels.ie website had a hugely negative impac on Irish holidaymakers, particularly those that had previously booked and received a booking reference number from the site before its closure, who suddenly found themselves out of pocket. Like a knight in shining armour, Hotels.com are now stepping in to offer guaranteed discount to be claimed on rebookings, valid until Wednesday, July 21 for hotel bookings until 31 December 2010.

Customers wishing to utilise the 20% discount with Hotels.com will have to call a dedicated Hotels.com telephone number and provide their original 1800hotels.ie booking reference number at the time of rebooking.

Referring to the offer for Irish holiday makers, David Roche, President of Hotels.com said, “We are conscious that a large number of people have been left out of pocket this week. As a goodwill gesture, Hotels.com is offering a 20% discount to these customers to help ease the financial burden for those who must now rebook.”

Good work Mr. Roche. If you would like to avail of the Hotels.com offer, or you’re looking for additional information, you can call the dedicated discount line on +353 (1)65 69447. You can also view www.hotels.com for accommodation details.
